Almost a year ago dear Aunt Hilda and Uncle Ez passed away, yet my memories of them remain sharp: their wit and laughter, their love and devotion to the family, the pride they took in their children and grandchildren, and how glad they were to see us at the many joyful holidays and gatherings of family. Hilda and Ez, we love you and miss you dearly!

I'm sorry to hear about Colette's mother, too. Ezra and Hilda were people who believed that education is valuable. Ezra's mother (Grandma Lilly) was a teacher, and I think Ezra means teacher in Hebrew. Sincerely, Alice

Hilda and I met in Camp Mikan in 1938. She was one of the best asses (ASST Counsellor) and I was a lowly junior. Am absolute doll all her life and I miss her. Ezra I always think of as the head of his "HAREM" as he was often the only man present. We don't have anyone to drive us around anymore. Much love and goodbye.

We only became friends after they moved to Wynmoor. I was fortunate to have them as my very good friends. We had tickets to the Fine Arts here in Wynmoor I never had to call Ezra for a ride to the Entertanment Center--he always called me to see if I needed a ride. Ezra would go to dinner with three or four women, it never bothered him that he was the only male. Hilda and I would go to Costco to shop but what we really went for was the delicious hot dogs. Phyllis would join us and we had a grand time. I miss them so very much.

I wouldn't know where to begin. I met Hilda in 1935, and we were in touch ever since. We met just before I went to Camp Mikan for the first time. We were campers and then counsellors together until 1941. We took nearly all of our classes at Brooklyn College together, and we joined the same sorority. We majored in the same subjects. We went out on double dates. After she married Ezra, we saw each other and spoke on the phone through all the years, and we were at Wynmoor together. We went to the theatre and concerts, and birthday dinners every year. I didn't get to Wynmoor this year, but God, how I miss them both. Mimi.

I guess all I can say here is that I'm happy I was able to see Aunt Hilda again before she died - it had been over ten years but she did recognize me and let me give her a hug. I wish I'd been able to see my uncle once more, too.

We have fond memories of Hilda and Ezra coming to our house over Sukkot and celebrating the holiday with our family. They were always warm and truly gracious. We will miss them both.

Even though our families were separated by distance our relationship was as warm, supportive and close as one would hope a family relationship to be. I still remember the times when Tanta Eva came to stay with us when our parents had to go to a meeting. It didn't matter whether the family gathering was sad or happy our New York relatives were (and are) there for us. Hilda and Ezra were genuinely interested in the progress of our family and we were interested in theirs. We hope that the love we share with our New York relatives will continue on well into the future.

I am Joshua Meltzer's aunt I don't have a long history with Mr. and Mrs. Meltzer, but was happy to have met them. I found both Ezra and Hilda to be very genuine people who treated my family and I like we were their own. I was truly saddened to hear of both their passings and send their family my deepest condolences.

Its hard to believe Aunt Hilda and Uncle Ez are gone. They fill my childhood memories of family, holidays and celebrations. Hilda's warm smile, letters to camp, wonderful simis and delicious orange peels...Ez's consistant 'Hiya Herb' greeting, political and 'technology' conversations around the table. Their devotion to family was highlighted by making the trip from Florida to the Berkshires for my daughter Nicoloe's Bat Mitzvah just one short year ago. I celebrate their life together and their presence in my life.

I have very fond memories of Aunt Hilda and Uncle Ezra from the many holidays and family events that we shared. Hilda always greeted me such warmth and love, her face would light up as she said "Darling!!!" and gave me a hug and kiss. Ez and I were big Knicks fans, and I always looked forward to commiserating with him about the current state of the team, which usually was less than stellar. Even in their later years, Hilda and Ez always attended family events, in spite of the difficulties of travel. It was great to see them at my niece Nicole Kantor's Bat Mitzvah last year. I really miss them both, but I hope they are together and resting in peace and love.

I remember when Hilda and Ezra brought their first baby to my house to show him off. Aunt Hilda and Uncle Ez were very proud of baby Richard. I was about 6 years old, and didn't know why everyone made such a fuss over that baby. Ez was very warm and gave me a lot of attention. So I decided the baby was OK after all. Roz
