Eulogy for Hilda Meltzer
by Mrs. Anita Kantor
her sister

I guess I'm no longer the "kid sister"! Hilda always delighted in introducing me as her little sister - and then added with amazement- "and she has 9 grandchildren"!

Our parents told us to care for each other,- and we shared our lives...husbands became brothers and we loved and took pride in each others children and grandchildren.

So many poignant memories of Seders, Thanksgivings, holidays, weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs....shared celebrations and shared heartaches.

It would have been hard for Hilda to go on without Ez and so she was spared some lonely and difficult years.

So for Hilda, as well as Ez, .. I have taken license with some poetic words of Dylan Thomas,....an elegy for my parents as well.

Oh forever,....may they lie lightly--
Under the grass in love,
And there grow young-
Among the long flocks,
And never lie lost or still.....
